GRENNA MUSEUM – The André expedition
On July 11, 1897, the gas balloon Örnen took off from Danskön, Spitsbergen, with Salomon August Andrée, Nils Strindberg and Knut Frænkel in the gondola. Their intention was to geographically map the northern polar region to the greatest extent possible by flying over the North Pole. But already on July 14, the flight was canceled due to the weather and the real adventure begins, to survive in the Arctic.
We produced a 15 minute film about the André expedition. With dramatized scenes and the original black and white photos, we created a suspenseful historic documentary of the struggling expedition.
