Always present – rarely seen. In the exhibition about the women around Vasa, the visitor has the opportunity to get to know an important but previously invisible story about Vasa. Through the researchers’ work, a partially new and surprising picture of women’s living conditions during the early 17th century is revealed.

Velourfilm produced the films for the exhibition and came up with the concept for a 7 meter wide panorama film showing the building site of the Vasa ship. Carpenters, women and ship builders work side by side in the construction of the Vasa ship. A combination of miniatures and green screen techniques was used to create the immersive world of the ship yard.
